At Sovereign Pest Control we hear constantly from concerned customers that they’ve been visited by door-to-door salespeople representing our competitors. This type of sales approach can be very inconvenient; and you need to beware of door to door salespeople for many reasons.

Red flags to look out for

The following information will help to prepare you for this type of sales call should you find yourself on the receiving end of door-to-door sales tactics.

1. A door-to-door sales representative will use high pressure sales techniques to get a homeowner to sign a contract for their pest control services.
2. The sales pitch and price are often too good to be true. Consequently, homeowners should carefully review any contract before agreeing to the total cost and the services being offered.
3. In many cases, the door-to-door sales rep is not a licensed pest control applicator and cannot legally provide pest control service. At Sovereign Pest Control, we believe a homeowner should only sign a contract for service after a thorough inspection by a technician who is licensed by the State Department of Agriculture.
4. It is common for a homeowner to succumb to high pressure sales techniques, then decide to cancel the contract several hours later. Keep in mind that the terms of these door-to-door service contracts usually do not permit the homeowner to cancel the contract.
